Immersive Art

DAK’s brainchild, The Altervision 3D Blacklight Experience, is a beautiful, fun and truly engaging work of art you walk through, and potentially become a part of. Since 2006, it’s taken many forms and sizes, at some of the greatest festivals and special events across the country.
In addition to customizing this installation in many ways, he loves to collaborate with other creatives or technicians to provide amazing experiences for people.


Scenic Design & Lighting

Scenic Innovations was another of DAK’s companies, designing stage backdrops for business conferences and awards shows, as well as event lighting for lavish celebrations.
Enhancing environments with colorful accents remains a passion of his.


Fine Art Photography

DAKshots was his full-time business 2002-2009. DAK’s had dozens of gallery shows, and was represented by three art agents. In his LA studio, he did all his own production, creating stretched giclee canvases upto 10′ wide.
His style is largely abstract, featuring Textures & Patterns, Shadows & Reflections, Architecture, and Dynamic Lights.

As a pioneer of iPhonography, he started shooting exclusively on his phone in 2015, embracing the challenges and limitations, in lieu of the immense possibilities of capturing Beauty anywhere and everywhere. His book “Practice” showcased what was possible with the iPhones 3 and 4s. DAK continues to shoot daily, and occasionally exhibits new work.


Wide-Format Printing

After seven years in the print production department of a cutting-edge advertising agency, DAK opened up his own print studio, offering giclee prints on canvas and a variety of other media.

Graphic & Book Design

In the early days of desktop publishing back in 1990, DAK began using Quark Express and Photoshop. His first job after college was designing lapel pins for the 1996 Olympic games. Beside the hundreds of collectibles in his portfolio, he created “PinSports,” a publication all about pin collecting and the process behind making them.
Since then, he’s produced a variety of books, brochures, business cards, logos, signage and much more.


Custom Apparel

“1 of 1” is DAK’s business where he offers one-of-a-kind hand-painted clothing. Initially it was about making outfits to be worn inside the Altervision 3D Blacklight Experience – in neon colors that jump out at different levels when wearing the special 3D glasses.
He’s often been asked to create them for others. So, it’s now a service of its own.
